As is frequent, I slept in. It was such a peaceful place that I slept like a baby. I’d purchased food so a big breakfast of eggs, veggies, and yoghurt got me started on my day.
I set the GPS for Grand Anse Beach and off I went. Wow...what a trek just to go 7 miles, it was 25 minutes of twists and turns on very bad roads. I’m ok with right hand drive...build brain cells but the drivers and the driving conditions
...wow!

I had lunch at Umbrellas, which was recommended by Rawlda. It’s beachfront and reasonably price. Lunch consisted of beet and goat cheese salad and cassava fries. I had njce conversation with an American, seated next to me, Jack.
I wanted to see a bit of the capitol before my beach time so, I headed into St. George. It was only about 10 minutes drive and very lucky for me, I found a parking spot just where I was suggested...on the Caranage in front of the police station.
The town was pretty closed down as I was one of only a few out and about. I rambled around the cove, in and out of alley ways. It was hot and any open shop or along had my attention.
The harbor was filled with many colorful boats...reminded me of Marsaxlokk, on the coast of Malta. The view was terraced with colorful houses and a dramatic church up on the hill. It was quite a backdrop for my afternoon.
I happened to look down an alley and spotted a sign “Art/Cafe”. It was worth a look. It was upstairs within a courtyard and very quiet. I was the only guest of the gallery while I was there.
The lady shared many stories of the art of the 60+ local artists represented. There was so much amazing art that it was hard to decide. This is always better than the opposite. What a find. I purchased an oil called “The Ladies” it was a carnival scene painted with a palette knife instead of a brush...very cool. I certainly had nothing like this. Whoohoo!
After my successful treasure hunt, it was Beach time, back to Grand Anse. I found a little spot for me and sat and Enjoyed the view. There was a bit of a breeze so the heat was tolerable here but...it was time for a dip. The water was amazing, it wasn’t cold or too warm, it was perfect. It was refreshing from the very moment I felt the first wave hit my feet. I returned to my spot and as I frequently do upon my journeys, I used that time to contemplate.
What an enjoyable afternoon. Reflecting while on a sunny beach...doesn’t get any better.
It was time to head back to the apartment. I made my way The the coastal twists and turns and the crazy drivers who seemed to be aimed at me with every turn.

I had a save point of interest so I thought it would be easy. The saved point...wasn’t there. OMG! I was in a panic. I went on instinct and made it to the grocery store near the turn off...a minor miracle. Ok...continuing on. I drove past and found the main turn off. After many attempts and finding the next turn off, I tried starting over from the main road...no go.
It was getting dark now and my phone was at 3%. I went to the gas station on the main road and called Rawlda. She tried to guide me but it wasn’t working. So.. she met me at the gas station.
Guiding me back, I made some mental notes with visual landmarks for the next day. I explained what happened. All in all, she thought I’d done very well. :-)
Rawlda gave me a njce bottle of red wine to enjoy with dinner, to calm my nerves.
I cooked a njce meal with fresh local produce and enjoy an evening recounting my day in the blog,
