Travel day -

I was a bit anxious as I'd not traveled in almost 6 months. I'd chosen to reschedule 2 trips as work has become a beast to manage. I have kept postponing my journey, visiting 100 countries. I've done my best to prepare and I took a leap and kept my plans even with news today of monsoon rains, bridge collapsing, and a current death toll of 54. I contacted the B&B owner and he said it was fine in Kathmandu so...I headed t the airport.
I took an uber to the airport ants it's quicker and cheaper than a taxi. The guy was nice and we even listened to the DNC on the radio.
GO HILLARY!
I had an incident at security involving my toothpaste. The tube said 3.4 oz but it was more than 1/4 used. He took it and that was that. Once through I purchased the same toothpaste in 2.7 oz form ($5). Ugh
I had an aisle seat in the middle section so one other guy and I shared 5 seats. I watched the Jungle book...well most of it. After eating, I lounged and put in my Bluetooth ear plugs. They were amazing. I slept for a good 5-6 hours.
Arriving in Istanbul, I browsed the bazaar and had some yogurt and house. I had 4+ hours to kill. I did answer email for work. This just has to stop.
Anyway the flight from Istanbul to Kathmandu was full, full, full. Before we took off, there was a video tribute to the people who stabilized the country during the tragedy just 2 weeks earlier. I travel through Ataturk frequently, and it is once again as safe as it was, no worries.
Once again, my Bluetooth ear plugs came through and I was able to sleep 3+ hours of my 6 hour flight. They are awesome.
